A definition of volunteering:
Volunteering is an activity which takes place through not for profit organisations or projects and is
undertaken to be of benefit to the community, and the volunteer, and is at the volunteer's own free will and without coercion or financial
payment.
Principles of volunteering:
- Say "NO" if you are uncomfortable or feel you are being exploited
- Say "NO" if you are asked to
do anything that is dangerous, or a qualified tradesperson needs to carry out the task
- Ask for assistance when needed and support
other volunteers
- It is always a matter of choice and is not compulsory
- It is a legitimate way in which we can participate in the activities
of our community
- It is not a substitute for paid work
- Does not replace paid workers
- Respects the rights, dignity and culture of others
- Promotes friendship and comradery in our community

Residents to the Rescue
This list is not intended to take away the excellent work that Neighbours already do for each other, but it
is intended to compliment what already happens when someone is in need of help.
A sincere thank you to all the residents who have
kindly consented to be included on the "Residents to the Rescue" list. In future this list will be posted on the Noticeboard in the
Clubhouse as well as here on our site.
Please Remember: This is Neighbour helping Neighbour - All care will be taken - we do not have insurance
